Doug Barnes, woodturner, has been at his art for over 17 years. He is both well accomplished and well acclaimed.

 

Julie Bender, Pyrographic Artist, is a degreed and accomplished fine artist enthralled with the art of wood burning.

 Phil Colson has been working with wood for most of his life.
Nick Cook, a woodturner, creates one-of-a-kind pieces and gift items. He is internationally recognized and is one of the founding members of the American Association of Woodturners.

Sherry Darling, a master of many trades including photography and basket weaving, has a talent not only with her eyes but also with her hands. Her photography captures the essence of why so many people live and move to this heavenly mountainous area. Her baskets prove that she can use the amazing nature in her midst and transform it!

Don Duden features artistry in wood with lathe turned wooden vessels and sculptural works of art. He creates open, closed, and vase-like forms as well as carved and ultra thin pierced vessels.
Pam East an enamellist since 1997,enjoys experimenting with materials
Gary Gardner, a woodturner, has a variety of pieces ranging from small gift items to large scale masterpieces.
John Gibson's feelings about his are and his inspiration, “For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a special connection to the Native American culture, to the outdoors and to the landscapes of the West,” Gibson said.  “It is those loves that I try to reflect in every piece I make.”

Nancy Griffin, a gifted basket artisan, can not only be categorized as a talented basket weaver, but a delicate and thoughtful artist. Her small waxed linen pieces are beautifully handcrafted works where every hard working hour is visible.

Tamara Howell gives a second life and second face to an old piece of wood. Her pieces are creative, lively and inspirational. The characters and scenes she creates are unique to the wood and each beautifully done.

Wes Jones has been a woodturner for over 30 years

"I, [Mark Kauder], fell in love with segmented turning. It gives me lots of options, and no two bowls are the same."

Odessa Kelley, Odessa's paintings reveal her love for art coupled with an irrepressible lifelong reverence for nature and animals

Isabelle Lamar a native Georgian whose paintings reflect her love of color
Robin Lewis-Wild is now creating fine, intricate carvings and sensual pine needle baskets. Robin has recently returned to painting which she finds the most enjoyable and spontaneous of all.
Nancy Max knits shawls right here in Blue Ridge. She uses imported materials from Italy and they are available in a variety of colors.

Lissi Øland, a woodturner, world renowned master artist. She has been featured on HGTV, Women in the Arts. She is a very independent and self-reliant artist. Her masterpieces in size alone are an amazing feat.

Keith Rueckert, a woodturner, has long standing experience working with wood, which can be seen in his beautiful creations.

Ken Slaughter, a woodworker, has won 21 Blue Ribbons qualifying as a  master yet he still refers to himself as a hobbyist  

 

Robert St. Pierre's vessels are made using beautiful local woods as well as exotic imported woods. Robert has artworks in private, corporate and permanent museum collections in over 20 countries worldwide.

Dick Sing, a woodturner, from Joliet, Illinois creates beautiful decorative works of art that use forms which will test time. Each of his pieces are beautiful and unique.

Elizabeth Smathers, "I have always loved nature and the beauty it provides... Each step leads to another and evolves into new directions.  I started with pine needles in traditional styles and wanted to make the baskets have more movement and individuality." 

Tony Tritt, a woodturner, creates large scale beautiful bowls. Tony likes larger bowls, twelve or more inches in diameter.

Bill Welker, segmented woodturner, makes his creations by carefully putting together one piece at a time through a labor of love.

        

Jennifer "Ginger" Yaxley, gourd artist, uses a variety of learned skills including: carving, pyrography and staining, to aid her in her creation.

All the artists housed at the Turning Leaf Wood Art Gallery are unique in their style and methods. Each artist, even within the same medium, can not be compared with another artist, because they are each so very different.
