Jennifer, known as "Ginger", was born in Muncie, Indiana. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Associate Degree in Chemical Technology from Ball State University.

    "Ginger" has been working in wood since 1988, she learned the old fashion techniques of repair and refinishing, carving, weaving, and caning of antique furniture. Her interest in pyrography or woodburning, was sparked when she took classes at Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association. She began making gifts using leaf design patterns on gourds. After taking a class at the arts association she began to woodburn wildlife, flora and landscapes into gourds, dogwood, basswood, and holly. Her recent interests involves local historic buildings such as the Blue Ridge Courthouse and local churches.

    Her daily inspiration comes from the artists who taught her and the wildlife and forest which surrounds her home.
